Provenance:

Nils Backlund (b. St. Petersburg 1882, d. Nockeby 1950), married to the Russian noble lady Eugenie Soychay de la Duboissiere. Nils Backlund was son of Oskar Andreievich Backlund, Chief Astronomer at Pulkov Observatory outside St. Petersburg, while Eugenie Souchay de la Duboissiere was daughter of Eugene Souchay de la Duboissiere and his wife Olga, née de Demidoff. Nils Backlund received the shirt bottuns as a present from his mother-in-law. Nils and Eugenie Backlund moved to Sweden in 1922. Thence by descents until today
